BIOGRAPHY
Katarina Bulatovic was born in Kragujevac, Yugoslavia, in 1984. Her early international career reflected the changing political landscape of the region; first she represented Serbia and Montenegro in 2003, before representing Serbia from 2006 to 2008. Then, from 2011 until her retirement, she wore the red of Montenegro.
The switch to the Montenegrins could not have come at a better time, as a year later she was top scorer as Montenegro took silver at the London 2012 Olympic Games. She was then again top scorer with 56 goals as her side went one better, winning the Women’s EHF EURO 2012, beating Norway in the final in - of all places - Serbia.
Her first move away from Serbia came in 2006 with Slagelse in Denmark, where in her debut campaign she helped them to a third EHF Champions League success in four years. She headed to Buducnost in 2008 for the first of three spells with the Podgorica club, adding the 2010 Cup Winners’ Cup her second Champions League in 2012.
Success in Europe’s elite club competition kept coming, as she won the 2014 title with Györi Audi ETO KC and in 2015 back at Buducnost. Her 20-year senior career, which also included spells in Romania and Russia, came to an end in 2020.
